Duluth Denfeld boys win Hibbing Invitational
J.D. Foldesi won two events to lead the Duluth
Denfeld boys to the
championship of the Hibbing Invitational on Saturday. The Hunters’
girls squad placed second to Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin.
Foldesi, a junior, won the 100- and 400-meter
dashes in 11.60 and 52.30 seconds, respectively, while teammates
Tommy Jackson (1,600, 4:46.20), Connor Behm (800, 2:05.30) and Ben
Lepisto (3,200, 10:55.70) also claimed first-place finishes. The
Hunters also had the winning 800 and 1,600 relay teams as they scored
160.5 points.
Host Hibbing was second in the 11-team event with
102.5 points.Lisa Indrevag, a senior, finished first in the 3,200
(13:59.50) to pace the Denfeld girls with 130.5 points, trailing
only Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin’s 149.5.
