College women's soccer: Hamm hat trick leads Saints

Duluth Denfeld graduate Leah Hamm scored all three St. Scholastica goals as the Saints clinched the UMAC regular-season title outright with a 3-0 victory at Martin Luther College on Saturday in New Ulm, Minn.

After a scoreless 27 minutes of play, Hamm scored consecutive goals 38 seconds apart to put the Saints (13-6-1 overall, 13-0-1 UMAC) ahead 2-0.

Hamm completed the hat trick in the 79th minute as Kelsey Kehtel picked up her second assist of the day.

Kelsey Reeves made four saves to earn her 10th shutout of the season and 27th in her career, breaking Kelly Momsen’s program record.

The Saints will host a UMAC tournament semifinal at 2 p.m. Wednesday against Northland College.
