The East Greyhounds overcame an early deficit via a dominant second period to down the Hunters 4-3 at the Duluth Heritage Sports Center. 

Jan. 14
Tony Burns (class of 1990) led the Denfeld hockey team to two Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournaments. He died in Forest Lake at age 43.

March 17
Craig Smith (class of 1976) will resign his position as Duluth Huskies general manager. He held the postion for nearly 13 years.

April 5
Jerome Clarence Miller, who attended Denfeld in the 1940s, directed $100,000 of his estate to Duluth Public Schools.

April 18
Nikki Logergren (class of 2012) turned in a career day for the St. Scholastica Saints softball team, connecting for three home runs.

May 1
Denfeld’s Ashley Taipale threw a perfect game in a softball win against Hibbing at Wade Field.

May 10
Grace Zemlin (class of 1928) became a painter at age 60 and stayed sharp right up until her death at 104.

May 24
Nalani Harris (class of 2015) was recently honored with the Steve Rolland Youth Peacemaker Award.

July 5
Greg Anderson (class of 1979) won his fourth NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series pro stock race of the season and 78th of his career.

July 22
Mark Sertich (class of 1939) continues to play hockey at age 94.

July 26
Gordy Lundquist (class of 1945) and Marilyn Lundquist (Cran, class of 1947) are celebrating 55 years of Gordy’s Hi-Hat in Cloquet.

July 31
Classmates from Denfeld's class of 1945 shared memories in the Spirit Mountain Chalet during thier 70-year reunion.

The Denfeld Class of 1980 attempted to set the record for longest Wiffle ball game at Tom Johnson's field in Lakewood Township, but weather did not cooperate.

Brett Larson (class of 1991) has rejoined the men's hockey coaching staff of the UMD Bulldogs.

Aug. 24
Chad Tafs (class of 1987) owns a flooring company in Austin, Texas. He returned to Duluth to donate $10,000 to Woodland Hills residential treatment center.

The Denfeld High School Class of 1960 celebrated its 55-year reunion this weekend.

Over thirty years ago, Dick Gastler's habit of wearing a ratty old leisure suit to class caught fire in more ways than one.

Hunter Hall of Famer Bob Monson (class of 1955) died in his Rosemount home on Sept. 28. He was 78.

Greg Anderson (class of 1979) lost in the semifinals as the National Hot Rod Association Pro Stock season came to an end in Pomona, Calif.

Denfeld senior Antony Ferguson has been awarded the $1,000 Audrey Lundeen Scholarship from the Bluebird Foundation.
