Logergren , Saints too much for Crown

St. Scholastica junior Nikki Logergren turned in a career day, connecting for three home runs to lead the Saints to an 8-0 and 11-4 UMAC sweep of Crown College on Friday at Kenwood Field to extend their home winning streak to 30 games.

Logergren , a 2012 Duluth Denfeld graduate, finished 4-for-7 with seven RBIs for the Saints, who have won 13 straight and 33 straight UMAC regular season games.

Chrisi Mizera had a four-hitter with seven strikeouts to lead St. Scholastica in the six-inning opener. Kasandra McCabe opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the second.

Micah McGuiness earned the pitching win in the rematch for the Saints (19-10 overall, 13-0 UMAC), allowing six hits and four runs in six innings. She helped herself at the plate by going 2-for-4 with a run and four RBIs. Logergren , meanwhile, connected on home run Nos. 4 and 5 on the season, matching a career high.
