Leo Method
Leo Method was a three-time all-conference tackle on Denfeld's football
team, playing on the great teams of the early 1920s. He was also
on the track team.
In 1921 the team played in the regional championship.
In1922 it played for the state championship. In 1923 the Hunters
went 7-0 before losing the region final.
Method graduated from Denfeld in 1924 and went to the University
of North Carolina, where he played football. The university made
a ring for him after he scored a key touchdown. He stayed to coach
at the University of North Carolina after graduation.
In the 1950s, coach Walt Hunting named Method
to his team “Dream Team.”
