Wayne Samskar

May 7, 1928, in Duluth, Minn.
Died Sept. 25, 2009, in Appleton, Wis.
Wayne Samskar was a student, teacher and principal
at Denfeld. As a student, he participated in cross country, track,
orchestra and Pyramid, graduating in 1945.
He taught at Denfeld for 21 years before becoming
principal in 1970. He helped establish the Greater Denfeld Foundation,
which awards scholarships to outstanding students. He retired in
1984, but helped architects design Denfeld's gymnasium addition
in 1987. He also wrote a symphony during his retirement which was
performed locally.
