Duluth’s Polson front-and-center
on cover of state running mag
Jeremy Polson of Duluth earned a spot on the May-June cover of RunMinnesota
by starring on the state’s roads during the first half of
2008.
5K title winner
Polson, 30, won the Brian Kraft Memorial five-kilometer
race May 26 in Minneapolis in 14 minutes, 47 seconds. The event
served as the USA Track & Field-Minnesota 5K championship.
State Record
On April 19, he placed third in the Earth Day
Half-Marathon in St. Cloud, Minn., setting a state record for 30-year-old
men in 1:07:08.
Cover shot
His cover photo shows the finish of the St. Patrick’s
Day Human Race eight-kilometer run March 16 in St. Paul. Polson,
a teacher and cross country and track coach at AlBrook High School,
won in 24:06, edging Duluthian Eric Hartmark by four seconds.
Runner of the year four times
Four times in the past six years, Polson has been
named the state men’s runner of the year by the Minnesota
Running Data Center, sharing the 2007 title with Chris Lundstrom.
