Jukich picks up first AAA win

Ben Jukich, a 2001 Denfeld graduate, pitched eight shutout innings today to earn his first Class AAA baseball victory. It was his third start for the Louisville Bats, an affiliate of Major League Baseball’s Cincinnati Reds.

The Bats defeated the Charlotte Knights 9-0 in front of 2,630 spectators at Knights Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.

Jukich struck out three batters, walked one and scattering seven hits. Daniel Ray Herrera pitched a scoreless ninth inning in relief.

Jukich is now 1-1 with a 4.67 ERA.
