Jurek, Kokotovich to lead Denfeld boy’s soccer team

The 2008 Denfeld boy’s soccer team will be led by high-scoring three-year varsity starter Josh Jurek and top defender Tim Kokotovich, who is returning from a torn MCL.

Other top Hunters to watch are seniors Kevin Nagan, a smart play-making midfielder, and John Myre, a speedster who has a knack for putting the ball into the back of the net.

“Our team is going to be made up of a lot of players who have been on the same team for years in the AYSA,” said Denfeld coach Scott Anderson. “They know each other’s abilities and strengths which will help them compete for the top spot.”

Denfeld should be competitive in the section.

“Hermantown, Cloquet, East and Central will be tough,” said Anderson. “There is also Grand Rapids and defending state champs Marshall, plus Chisago Lakes and North Branch to contend with.”
