Bellamy earns national scholarship

Duluth Denfeld senior Laura Bellamy was one of 25 high school athletes to earn the Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache Athlete of the Year Award.

The SAMMY Award provides $7,500 college scholarships to high school seniors who are top performers in the classroom, community and their respective sports. This year’s winners were selected from nearly 55,000 applicants.

Bellamy, who plans on playing women’s hockey at Harvard starting next fall, earned 12 varsity letters in softball and hockey for the Hunters and academically ranked first in her class.
