Jukich ends season on good note

Duluth native Ben Jukich finished his Class AAA season with a solid performance, leading the Louisville Bats to a 5-2 victory over the Durham Bulls on Thursday in Durham, N.C., evening their best-of-five International League playoff series at one game apiece.

Jukich overcame a shaky start to log five-plus innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs, with three strikeouts and three walks. He finished the season 9-6 with a 4.1 ERA.

Jukich will begin winter ball on Oct. 10 in the Dominican Republic.
