Jukich contract sold to South Korean team

Duluth native Ben Jukich’s contract with the Cincinnati Reds organization was recently sold to a South Korean club. Jukich, a 6-foot-4 left-handed pitcher, was expected to return home this week before joining the LG Twins, a team based out of Seoul, for spring training in Sarasota, Fla., from Nov. 10 until Dec. 10.

Then he is expected to leave for Korea in February.

Jukich pitched well in the Cincinnati farm system, but it was difficult for him to move up as the Reds have quality pitching depth at the top levels. Most recently, he had been pitching for the Venezuelan team Leones del Caracas.
